WONDERFUL WHIPPETS

Our life with Whippets started with a sad beginning but continues with a litter of lovely puppies.
Bramble, Chacharan Bramble Bleu, our first Whippet was put to sleep whilst on a visit to England after a tragic accident at just one year old. We were heartbroken and as it was mid December at the time, we found celebrating Christmas very difficult.
After Christmas, on our return to France our friend Lizzie Gill told us about a litter of Whippet puppies that had been born in November and would be ready to go to their new homes the 2nd week in January.
That is how we first met Annie Defarge, of "de Croque-Soleil", from whom we got our Cassy (Castagnette de Croque-Soleil). Annie asked if we would be interested in either showing or racing Cassy when she was old enough. Our initial thoughts were that Cassy would be a family pet only, but after a little thought we gave them both a go and we and Cassy have never looked back.
The racing is something we both greatly enjoy and Cassy adores it. Out in all weathers, visiting different clubs all over France and making some very good friends, who also adore their Whippets. Under Annie's tutorship we have shown Cassy all over France ,Spain and even Greece.
After having Border Collies and Bearded Collies for 30 years, having a Whippet was a bit different, we have learnt that they make excellent family pets and are wonderful with children, our grandsons will testify to that. To keep a Whippet happy is not difficult, to use up that pent up energy a good run morning and evening is enough. For the rest of the day a soft comfortable sofa to snooze on plus their owner beside them is heaven.
Their enthusiasm for chasing the lure ( piece of plastic) in coursing knows no bounds. There is a feeling of real freedom when you watch a Whippet running free in a field or on a beach.
We have been completely won over by Whippets. long may they run.
